Boss is headed to Japan in October and wants to know if there are any good diecast stores to be found?

Depends, what city you're planning to visit?

Not me, my boss at work. He's going to Japan for a week, and go anywhere pretty much.
Know of any shops that would have good quality for crazy low prices?

Well, for starters you can always visit Tomica Shop. You can't really go wrong there, Or Minicar Ikeda in Tokyo.

Where are these located so he can know where he'll need to travel?
Thanks!

Tomica Shop is like a Walmart, it's quite easy to find, just look at departement store, but they only sells a diecast from Tomica brand. Minicar Ikeda is a small store in Tokyo, i forgot where it is since the last time i went tihere was 2010.
Tomica is like japan's Hotwheels, something like this:
There's also the Tomica Limited Vintage for enthusiast, but it's a bit expensive:

Have your boss go to Akihabara and walk down Chuo Dori and he will find about 5 or 6 shops with a good mix of items. That is where I use to pick up items, also in the Tokyo rail station there is a mall that has a Tomica store, I purchased a lot of stuff there while my wife was shopping for stuffed animals at other toy shops.

What kind of prices should he expect? I am having him get a few for me as well. $5,$10 each or more?

I live in Tokyo and made a post about Nakano Broadway. If you're looking for interesting rare stuff it is the place to go. For normal stuff, Yodobashi or any of the big electronics chains. The Tomica shop is cool but sells everything at the RRP.
Nakano is only a few minutes from Shinjuku so mega central as well.

$8-15 for a lot of the basic stuff.
